Anuradapura

Anuradhapura is a major city located in the north central plain of Sri Lanka. It is the capital city of North Central Province and the capital of Anuradhapura District. The city lies 205 kilometers north of the current capital of Colombo in the North Central Province, on the banks of the historic Malwathu Oya

Colombo

Colombo is the executive and judicial capital and largest city of Sri Lanka by population. The Colombo metropolitan area is estimated to have a population of 5.6 million, and 752,993 within the municipal limits. It is the financial centre of the island and a tourist destination.

Dambulla is a city situated in the north of Matale District, in Sri Lanka's Central Province. It is the second largest populated and urbanised centre after Matale in the Matale District. It is situated 148 km north-east of Colombo, 43 km north of Matale and 72 km north of Kandy

The Kingdom of Kandy was a monarchy on the island of Sri Lanka, located in the central and eastern portion of the island. It was founded in the late 15th century and endured until the early 19th century.Sri Dalada Maligawa, commonly known in English as the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, is a Buddhist temple in Kandy, Sri Lanka. It is located in the Royal Palace Complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, which houses the relic of the tooth of the Buddha.

Galle

Galle is a city on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka. It’s known for Galle Fort, the fortified old city founded by Portuguese colonists in the 16th century. Stone sea walls, expanded by the Dutch, encircle car-free streets with architecture reflecting Portuguese, Dutch and British rule. Notable buildings include the 18th-century Dutch Reformed Church. Galle Lighthouse stands on the fort’s southeast tip.

Ella

Ella offers a captivating experience centered around natural beauty and outdoor activities. Visitors can enjoy stunning scenery, including lush tea plantations, rolling hills, and the iconic Nine Arch Bridge. Hiking, particularly to Little Adam's Peak and Ella Rock, is a popular way to explore the area and enjoy panoramic views. Hikkaduwa

Hikkaduwa Beach, located on Sri Lanka's southwest coast, is a popular tourist destination known for its beautiful beaches, coral reefs, and vibrant atmosphere. It offers a variety of activities, including swimming, surfing, snorkeling, and diving. The area also features a sea turtle hatchery and rescue center, making it a great spot for wildlife enthusiasts.

Kalpitiya

Kalpitiya, Sri Lanka, is a renowned location for dolphin and whale watching, particularly known for its large pods of spinner dolphins. The best time for dolphin watching is from November to April, with tours typically starting around 7:30 AM. You can witness spinner dolphins, along with other species like Bottlenose, Risso's, and Indo-Pacific Humpback dolphins

Thrincomalee

Trincomalee is a port city on the northeast coast of Sri Lanka. Set on a peninsula, Fort Frederick was built by the Portuguese in the 17th century. Within its grounds, the grand Koneswaram Temple stands on Swami Rock cliff, a popular vantage point for blue-whale watching. The holy complex contains ornate shrines and a massive statue of Shiva. Nearby Gokanna Temple has panoramic views over the city and the coastline.

Kithulgala

​Kitulgala is a popular destination in Sri Lanka for white water rafting, offering an exciting experience on the Kelani River. Rafting trips typically involve navigating five major and four minor rapids, with distances covered around 5-7 kilometers, according to Kitulgala White Water Rafting. The activity is suitable for beginners and experienced rafters alike, with safety gear and briefings provided before each trip.

Mirissa

Mirissa is a small town on the south coast of Sri Lanka, located in the Matara District of the Southern Province. It is approximately 150 kilometres south of Colombo and is situated at an elevation of 4 metres above sea level. Mirissa's beach and nightlife make it a popular tourist destination. 

Nuwara Eliya

Nuwara Eliya is a city in the tea country hills of central Sri Lanka. The naturally landscaped Hakgala Botanical Gardens displays roses and tree ferns, and shelters monkeys and blue magpies. Nearby Seetha Amman Temple, a colorful Hindu shrine, is decorated with religious figures. Densely forested Galway's Land National Park is a sanctuary for endemic and migratory bird species, including bulbuls and flycatchers.

Negombo

Negombo is a city on the west coast of Sri Lanka, north of the capital, Colombo. Near the waterfront, the remains of the 17th-century Dutch Fort now house a prison. Negombo Lagoon, lined with fishermen’s huts, feeds into the Dutch-era Hamilton Canal. The canal leads south to Colombo. Neoclassical St. Mary’s Church, completed in the 1920s, features a ceiling decorated with vivid religious paintings.

Pasikudah

Pasikuda Beach, located on Sri Lanka's eastern coast, is renowned for its calm, shallow, and clear waters, making it a popular destination for swimming, snorkeling, and other water activities. The beach features a long, sandy slope with no rocks or corals, and the water is shallow enough for children and non-swimmers, while still being deep enough for swimming and floating. It's considered one of the safest and cleanest beaches in Sri Lanka, with the ability to walk out 250 meters into the sea.

Polonnaruwa

Poḷonnaruwa, also referred as Pulathisipura and Vijayarajapura in ancient times, is the main town of Polonnaruwa District in North Central Province, Sri Lanka. The modern town of Polonnaruwa is also known as New Town, and the other part of Polonnaruwa remains as the royal ancient city of the Kingdom of Polonnaruwa. 

Sigiriya

Sigiriya, also known as Lion Rock, is an ancient fortress and palace located in central Sri Lanka. It's a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of Sri Lanka's most iconic attractions. Built by King Kashyapa in the 5th century, it features a massive rock rising 660 feet above the surrounding plains, with ruins of a palace on top. Sigiriya is known for its well-preserved frescoes, water gardens, and the Lion's Gate

Sinharaja Forest Reserve is a forest reserve and a biodiversity hotspot in Sri Lanka. It is of international significance and has been designated a Biosphere Reserve and World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Thangalla

angalle is a large town in Hambantota District, Southern Province, Sri Lanka, governed by an Urban Council. It is one of the largest towns in southern province. It is located 195 km south of Colombo and 35 km east of Matara. It has a mild climate, in comparison to the rest of the district, and sandy beaches.

Wellawaya, situated in Sri Lanka's Uva Province, boasts a rich ancient history, particularly evident in its archaeological sites and religious monuments. The area was a significant location during the Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa kingdoms, with evidence of Buddhist monastic complexes and impressive rock-cut sculptures like those found at Buduruwagala

Yala

Yala National Park is a huge area of forest, grassland and lagoons bordering the Indian Ocean, in southeast Sri Lanka. It’s home to wildlife such as leopards, elephants and crocodiles, as well as hundreds of bird species. Inland, Sithulpawwa is an ancient Buddhist monastery. Nearby caves contain centuries-old rock paintings. Southwest, Magul Maha Viharaya also has ancient Buddhist ruins. Both are pilgrimage sites.

Udawalawa

Udawalawe National Park, established in 1972, is a renowned wildlife sanctuary in Sri Lanka, particularly famous for its large elephant population. Located on the boundary of Sabaragamuwa and Uva Provinces, it offers a unique safari experience with its open grasslands and scrubland, making it easier to spot wildlife.
